Responsible for the development and direction the rehabilitation services provided to participants.

Sunja Bennett brings over 25 years of experience working with diverse populations of all ages.  She started her career in residential group homes for people with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities, moved into job coaching and working with people who have mental health issues.  Following completion of her internship with Superior School District’s Indian Education Department, Sunja obtained a B.S. in Social Work at UW-Superior.  She found her passion working with people with disabilities as a case manager in day services while supervising a sheltered workshop.  Sunja also served as WI Badger Care NEMT Ombudsman, continued her work in advocacy for Medicaid and Medicare members, medical facilities and Tribes in WI and NV.  Sunja was serving as Social Services Director for a long-term care facility when she again realized her desire to work with people with disabilities and began working with transition age youth before moving back to our community now serving in her role as Rehabilitation Services Director at Embark.  Sunja services our community in a number of ways outside of her role with Embark as a member of CASDA’s Board of Directors, Association of People Supporting Employment (APSE), Disability Service Provider Network (DSPN), and Douglas County’s County Community on Transition (CCoT).
